This young heifer is one of the flashiest heifers that we have raised here at the Box Z Ranch! She has the feminine look to go along with all the spots of color. She is out of our big-bodied herd sire, D-H Sombra de Nuez. He is consistently throwing the walnut color gene so we expect that Joan will get darker as she matures. Her sire`s pedigree is stacked with Crown`s Classic Shadow, Phenomenon, and Storm Warning that bodes well for good sized offspring. Joan`s dam is one of the most majestic looking cows we have, Jets Black Star. Jet is one of the biggest horned females we have and the horns are rolling out beautifully. Jet goes back to Jet Jockey, Deigo`s Hot Shot, and Deigo`s Bunk Galloway - a lot of black genetics. Photo taken 02/14/2010. |
